ETSU clinical health requirements: what ProjectConcert tracks and how to stay cleared
At East Tennessee State University (ETSU), the College of Nursing keeps each student's clinical compliance file in ProjectConcert, where every requirement carries its own status and due date. All of it has to be in order before your first clinical day, and a report called the Student Passport lets you hand a site your whole record as one PDF or spreadsheet.

What ETSU counts as a clinical requirement
ETSU's website has no single master checklist live today, since the College's earlier requirement PDFs for the BSN and for clinical health care both come back "page not found." The requirement set has to be read from three sources: the graduate catalog's DNP rules for starting clinical courses, the Preceptor Intent Form's line that immunizations, liability insurance and every other clinical requirement come before clinicals start, and the Office of Practice's itemized list for its nurse-led clinics.
Read together, they fall into the groups below. The graduate catalog adds one open-ended rule: you may be asked at any time for proof of physical or mental health, and staying in the program can depend on it. Each group has its own guide on this site: immunizations and TB, background checks, malpractice insurance and the RN license rule.

Finding your requirements in ProjectConcert
Compliance is one part of the ProjectConcert account that later holds your placement entries and hour logs; ETSU's login page is secure.projectconcert.com/etsu, and your normal ETSU username works there. Your account opens once the Office of Student Services emails you about clinical health requirements, so keep an eye on your @etsu.edu inbox early in your first term.

Status and due dates: the calendar ETSU leaves to the system
ETSU publishes no calendar deadline for compliance. Each requirement's due date is set inside ProjectConcert, so the dates that bind you are the ones on your own Clinical Requirements tab, not a date on a web page. Look at the tab at the start of every term and again before each practicum.
Several items run on a cycle. On the clinic list, flu vaccination and a negative TB skin test both renew yearly, a Tdap or Td booster has to be under 10 years old, and a background check must date from the past 12 months. An item that showed as met at admission can lapse halfway through a summer practicum if nobody looks back at it.
The timing rule is short. On the Intent Form, meeting every clinical requirement is a condition of starting clinicals. A preceptor can be approved and a contract signed, and the first clinical day can still wait on one expired card.
An expired flu shot or TB test can hold your start even after the preceptor is approved: renew before the due date, not after the reminder.
The Student Passport: your record in one export
The Student Passport is a ProjectConcert report that exports your compliance record as a PDF or a spreadsheet. ETSU's guide presents it as the record you share with clinical sites, which spares a clinic manager a dozen separate attachments and spares you the job of sending them.
Run a fresh export each time a site asks, since an old copy can show an item as current after it has expired. Sites also run their own student steps. Ballad Health, for example, says on its own pages that its student orientation must be finished before an approved placement starts. When a site asks for something the Passport does not hold, add it to your list the day you hear about it.
The Office of Practice uses the same file. When you are accepted for a rotation in one of the College's nurse-led clinics, it reviews your ProjectConcert record and reports anything missing, and it points out that most of its items repeat what students already provided at admission.
Graduate and BSN requirements differ
For graduate students, the DNP catalog lines up what comes before clinical courses: an RN license valid in Tennessee or in a compact state, malpractice coverage written for NP students, current CPR plus a grounding in universal precautions, a background check, the College's other clinical requirements and a way to reach every site on your own. MSN and certificate students meet the Intent Form rule before any precepted course, and certificate coursework is online while clinicals are in person.
Prelicensure students answer to the College's Clinical Health Requirements and Core Performance Standards instead, and those include a background check and a urine drug screen, each through a vendor the College names and each paid for by the student. Facilities have the last word under the undergraduate catalog, which means College clearance alone does not secure a place at a given site. Our BSN clinicals page covers how those assignments work.

Questions ETSU students ask
When do I get access to ProjectConcert as a new ETSU nursing student?
Your account becomes usable after the Office of Student Services emails your @etsu.edu address about clinical health requirements. From then on, ETSU's login page at secure.projectconcert.com/etsu takes your normal ETSU username. When a login fails, test the same account in D2L; if that fails too, the ITS Help Desk can sort it out.
What is the Student Passport in ProjectConcert?
It is a report that exports your full clinical compliance record as a PDF or a spreadsheet. ETSU's guide describes it as the record you give clinical sites, with every requirement and its status in one document. Run a new export each time you send it, so the dates a site sees match your current file.
Does ETSU publish deadlines for clinical health requirements?
Not as calendar dates. Each requirement in ProjectConcert carries its own due date, set inside the system, and that is the date that counts. The fixed rule is that every clinical requirement is met before clinicals start, so plan renewals of yearly items such as flu and TB well ahead of each practicum.
Can a clinical site ask for more than ETSU requires?
Yes. ETSU's undergraduate catalog gives clinical partners authority over whether students meet health requirements, and for graduate students the agencies decide on background results. Health systems also run their own onboarding. Treat the ETSU list as the minimum, ask each site what it adds, and keep the extra records with your ProjectConcert file.
Who reviews what I upload?
Your uploads are reviewed inside ProjectConcert, and the Status column shows where each one stands. The Office of Practice checks the file again for students accepted into its nurse-led clinics and reports anything missing. For background checks the College keeps only proof of completion, while the clinical agencies read the results themselves.
