Three ETSU sources touch this course. The 2023 FNP plans schedule it in a summer beside NRSE 5021. The Preceptor Intent Form calls it Women's Health Practicum. The catalog entry adds the setting language quoted above. The remainder of the catalog text was not available. In both full-time plans, NRSE 5021 and NRSE 5022 share the summer with NRSE 5011 and NRSE 5012, so that one term holds two practicums and two didactic courses at once.
NRSE 5022 belongs to the Family Nurse Practitioner program and is not a specialty track. ETSU's MSN offers no Women's Health NP concentration; the WHNP appears only in the ETSU-TTU joint DNP. Your preceptor is supporting an FNP student learning women's health inside a family-practice role, which is worth saying in your first message to a practice.

Part-time spring starters end the program with NRSE 5022 in Summer 8, so a delay there moves graduation itself. The graduation application for a summer finish is due March 1, before the rotation starts, so aim to have the preceptor settled by then too.
Rural, urban and underserved settings
That setting language lines up with ETSU Online's description of the FNP as aimed at underserved rural and urban populations. Around Johnson City the need is measurable. HRSA's current files carry low-income primary care shortage designations for Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Sullivan, Hawkins, Greene and Sevier counties, and high-needs geographic designations for Johnson and Hancock.
ETSU's nurse-led clinics are part of that picture. The College describes its Johnson City Community Health Center and Johnson City Downtown Day Center Clinic as Federally Qualified Health Centers, and the Office of Practice opens summer requests on March 1. Who can precept a women's health rotation
ETSU names no specialty list for this course. The form suggests FNP, ANP or MD as typical credentials, and Tennessee Rule 1000-01 sets the license bar at your own target level or above, in the preceptor's practice state, with matching competencies. Tennessee certifies APRNs in four roles, certified nurse-midwife among them, so several kinds of clinician clear that bar.
Whether a women's health NP, a certified nurse-midwife or an obstetrics and gynecology physician suits NRSE 5022 is for clinical faculty to decide, since they approve each preceptor course by course. Ask before you spend weeks on one practice. Tennessee also has schools watch each preceptor's license through Nursys e-Notify, so enter the license number and state exactly as the board issued them. The women's row on the patient-mix grid
Women are a separate row in the form's patient table, with a share and a per-day count of their own. For NRSE 5022 that row is the first thing faculty read. A family practice with many women patients may satisfy it; a dedicated women's health practice answers it outright.

Can an OB-GYN physician precept NRSE 5022?
