ETSU student systems: where each part of your clinicals lives
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) spreads a nursing student's work across several systems. Registration, fees and grades run through GoldLink; courses live in D2L; official messages come to your @etsu.edu email; your program of study sits in Degree Works; and everything clinical, from compliance to hour logs, lives in ProjectConcert. Knowing which system holds what keeps a placement from stalling over a missed step.

Which system does what
Use this as a quick reference. Each system has its own job, and a clinical placement touches nearly all of them over a program.

GoldLink now, MyETSU next
GoldLink is ETSU's portal to its systems. You sign in with your ETSU username and credentials to register, pay fees, check financial aid and grades and update your contact details, and grade reports post there each term. For clinicals it matters most at registration and around each term's drop and add deadlines, which run through it.
ETSU is moving its Banner student system to Ellucian Banner SaaS and presents MyETSU as GoldLink's successor, with a planned go-live in October 2027. ETSU says sign-in credentials are not expected to change, and Banner stays the core student information system underneath. The date is a plan, so watch your ETSU email for updates.
Keep your address current. Graduate students who move out of Tennessee must also tell the College and the records office, and a move can affect whether clinicals may continue; see moving during your program.
D2L and your @etsu.edu email
D2L (Desire2Learn) is ETSU's online course system. The College of Nursing's Helpful Links page groups D2L support with the other student IT links, and the library link is built into D2L. When ProjectConcert refuses a sign-in, its own guide tells students to test their credentials in D2L first, because both use the ETSU account.
Email is the channel ETSU treats as official. Accounts are @etsu.edu on Office 365, created when you apply and activated with your E number, and the catalog's Electronic Mail policy makes that address the official line between students, faculty and staff. The Office of Student Services' clinical health requirements email is what opens ProjectConcert to new students, and a rejected preceptor entry triggers an email too, so an unread inbox can quietly hold up a placement.
Read your @etsu.edu inbox as closely as any course: ETSU treats it as the official channel, and placement news is often time-sensitive.
ProjectConcert: the clinical system
Everything clinical sits in one platform. ProjectConcert holds your compliance file under the Clinical Requirements tab, with each requirement's status and due date and a Student Passport export you can hand to a site. It is also where you submit the Preceptor & Clinical Agency Onboarding entry, build your schedule, log hours and the patient journal, and schedule your preceptor's mid-term and final evaluations.
You sign in at secure.projectconcert.com/etsu with ETSU credentials. Preceptors use the details in the Preceptor Welcome Email the Graduate Clinical Placement Coordinator sends after approval. ETSU's nursing pages name no other clinical platform, so any request to use a different tracking system should be checked with the College. The ProjectConcert page walks through each part in order.
Library access and help for online students
Sherrod Library gives distance students the same resources as campus students, through off-campus access with the ETSU account. Materials are mailed to students living more than 30 miles from campus, interlibrary loan and document delivery are available, and a TALC card lets you borrow from a public Tennessee college library near you. An Outreach and Distance Education Librarian role supports online learners.
For technical trouble, the ITS Help Desk handles D2L, email, account access, Banner and GoldLink. The College's Helpful Links page links the ProjectConcert sign-in and its tutorials, including guides for uploading requirements, the self-scheduler, hour logs and evaluations. What is the difference between GoldLink and D2L at ETSU?
GoldLink is the portal for registration, fees, financial aid, grades and contact details. D2L is the online course system where coursework and the library link live. Clinical records sit in neither: compliance items, preceptor submissions, schedules, hour logs and evaluations all belong in ProjectConcert.
When does MyETSU replace GoldLink?
ETSU's Banner page presents MyETSU as GoldLink's successor with a planned go-live in October 2027, as ETSU moves Banner to Ellucian Banner SaaS. Sign-in credentials are not expected to change. Until then, keep using GoldLink, and treat the date as a plan that could shift.
How do new ETSU nursing students get into ProjectConcert?
Access follows the Office of Student Services' clinical health requirements email. You then sign in at secure.projectconcert.com/etsu with your ETSU credentials. If the sign-in fails, ProjectConcert's guide suggests testing the same credentials in D2L first, and the ITS Help Desk handles account problems.
Can online ETSU nursing students use the library from another state?
Yes. Sherrod Library gives distance students the same resources as campus students through off-campus access with the ETSU account, mails materials to students living more than 30 miles away, and offers interlibrary loan and document delivery. The TALC card applies only to public Tennessee college libraries.
Where do I see which semester each practicum falls in?
Your program of study, filed in Degree Works, is the reference, alongside the plans of study the College posts for each concentration. The posted plans date from 2020 to 2023, so check your catalog year and confirm with your advisor before you plan a preceptor search around them.
