These terms apply when you use this site or ask ETSU Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your ETSU program's own requirements.

The service
ETSU Preceptor is an independent placement service for East Tennessee State University (ETSU) nursing students. We search for preceptors and clinical sites that fit a student's ETSU course, prepare the preceptor and site information the student submits to ETSU (including what the Preceptor Intent Form and ProjectConcert entry ask for), and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
East Tennessee State University does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official ETSU statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean ETSU Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
ETSU's role and final approval
ETSU clinical faculty approve every preceptor its graduate students use, the College of Nursing's Office of Student Services verifies preceptor credentials, and a contract must be in place before clinicals start. ETSU's catalog, College of Nursing pages, plans of study, course syllabi and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from ETSU's current requirements, ETSU's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that ETSU will approve a site or preceptor we identify, that a contract will be in place by a particular date, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after ETSU's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting ETSU's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- meeting the College of Nursing's clinical health requirements and submitting what ETSU asks for in ProjectConcert on time, including your clinical hour logs;
- holding an active, unencumbered RN license for the state where you do your clinicals, and reporting any change as ETSU requires;
- completing background checks, health clearance, immunizations, insurance and any site requirements before patient contact;
- logging hours accurately and following each agency's rules;
- staying in contact with your course faculty and the graduate clinical coordinator;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and ETSU's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. ETSU places the cost of background checks, insurance and clinical requirements on the student.

They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and ETSU's rules can change. Check your plan of study, your syllabus, your course faculty and the graduate clinical coordinator before relying on any detail.

Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your inquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, ETSU Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of ETSU, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.
